Rules and Regulations for EArtH Global Skills Contest 2022

  1. The theme for all categories is ”Covid 19 for Kids”. It can be anything related to Covid 19 like how to take precautions, what are the impacts of covid etc.
  2. The goal of this competition is to raise awareness about EArtH Foundation’s activities. 
  3. Judges for the competition will not have any knowledge of any donation made by contestant(s).
  4. Children and adults from EArtH Foundation adopted villages and EArtH Foundation team members and their children are not eligible to participate. 
  5. Contest submission date is Mar 29, 2022 (you can register anytime before then).
  6. Contestants may submit up to 2 pieces of work for the contest. Any contestant can receive only one prize.
  7. All work is preferred to be original. If any work is not original and is a reproduction, credit must be given to the original artist. 
  8. Work that is offensive, insensitive or display vulgarity to others will not be considered. 
  9. All decisions by the judges are final. 
  10. Winners for the first three places in each category will be announced few days after the competition ends. Prizes to the winners will be sent to their addresses.
  11. By entering this contest, the participants agree that the material provided by them could be and will be posted on EArtH foundations website or Facebook page, and for any promotion of EArtH foundation activities.

Grand Prize:

  1. Best of the 12 first prize winners (3 winners in each age group).
  2. Participation in multiple categories.
  3. Relevance to the theme of the competition.
  4. Majority of the judges to agree.

Specific rules for individual categories:

Drawing and Painting:

  1. Drawing / Painting must be submitted in JPEG, PNG, GIF and PDF format. Individual files must not exceed 30 MB.
  2. No computer-generated displays allowed. All drawings and paintings must be hand drawn.
  3. Please write your name on the drawing / painting. 

Writing:

  1. Must be an original composition written by the submitter and cannot be something the submitter has used previously
  2. Must be written in standard English
    • The quality of language will not be a decisive factor provided the composition retains its clarity and coherence.
  3. Formatting
    • Times New Roman font
    • 12-point font
    • 1-inch margins
    • Double spaced

Note: The purpose of these guidelines is to make the submissions uniform and easier to read.

  1. Length
  1. Ages 4-8: up to 500 words
  2. Ages 9-12: up to 1000 words
  3. Ages 13-17: up to 1500 words

Note: These are maximum guidelines. Your essay does not have to meet the maximum for your age category.

Speaking: 

  1. Must be an original oral presentation by the submitter and cannot be something the submitter has used previously
  2. Must be presented in standard English
    1. The quality of language will not be a decisive factor provided the presentation retains its clarity and coherence.
  1. While your presentation does not have to be completely memorized, you should not be reading all or most of it.
  2. Length – 2 to 4 mins.
